How to change Nipple Piercings?

Nipple piercings are an excellent way to show off your unique style. After your piercing has healed completely, you get to pick out different types of jewellery, like bars, rings, or shields for your nipples. But before you switch to new jewellery, you have to safely remove the old one by unscrewing it carefully. After that, you can quickly put in your new jewellery. Don’t worry if it takes a little time to get used to changing them – with practice, you’ll get good at it!

Method – 1

Removing the Bar Piercing

Step 1: First, wash your hands well and dry them thoroughly. Apply antibacterial soap to your hands and rub them together thoroughly for at least 20 seconds. Make sure to cover all areas of your hands, including between your fingers. Then, rinse your hands with warm water. Then, let your hands air-dry or use a clean paper towel to dry them off before doing anything else.

Use hand sanitizer instead if you don’t have soap and water nearby. It’s super important to clean

your hands well so you don’t introduce bacteria into your piercing.

Step 2: To remove the metal balls at the end of your bar jewellery, gently twist them. Use your fingers to pinch one side of the metal ball on your nipple bar. Rotate it in the opposite direction to loosen it until it comes off the jewellery. Remember to keep the removed ball safe so you don’t lose it.

Remember the “righty-tighty, lefty-loosey” rule when taking off body jewellery. That means you turn things to the left to loosen them and to the right to tighten them.

Step 3: To take out the metal bar from your nipple, start by holding the end with the ball still attached. Slowly and carefully, remove the bar in a straight motion from the piercing. Don’t rush or try to force it out, as you don’t want to hurt your piercing. Once it’s out, make sure to keep the bar in a safe place so you don’t lose it.

If you’re wearing a nipple shield, remove that part before removing the metal bar. And if you’re

having trouble getting the bar out, contacting a local piercer for help is a good idea.

Step 4: Return the metal bar to the metal ball so you don’t misplace it. Tighten the loose metal ball onto the end of the bar by turning it in a clockwise direction until it’s firmly in place. Once it’s all set, please keep it in a safe spot like a jewellery box or another secure container to avoid losing it.

If you don’t have a jewellery box yet, think about getting one or making one to store your nipple jewellery safely.

Taking out Nipple Rings

Step 1: Clean your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Put soap on your hands and rub them together until they’re all lathered up, including your fingers, palms, wrists, and back.
For the best germ protection, use antibacterial soap to thoroughly clean your hands. Rub your hands together for at least 20 seconds before rinsing them with warm water to remove all the soap. Finally, dry your hands completely with a towel or allow them to air dry.

Step-2: Gently slide a thin, closed pair of scissors into the gap of the nipple ring. Ensure the scissors are completely closed before bringing them close to your nipple. Exercise extreme caution during this process, and only insert the scissors about 1 inch (2.5 cm) into the ring. Opt for small and thin safety scissors rather than regular ones for added safety.

Step 3: Gently open the scissors to loosen the nipple ring. Slowly widen the scissors’ handle to separate the ring’s edges gradually. Take your time and be careful not to harm the jewellery. Keep opening the scissors gradually until the hoop starts to open up.

For nipple rings with a clasp, use your fingers to pinch both sides of the ring and pry it open. While using the scissors, aim to keep the ends pointed away from your nipple as you work on taking out the ring. This helps ensure your safety during the process.

Step 4: To remove the jewellery, tilt the metal hoop gently to make it easier to remove from your nipple piercing. Employ slow and cautious motions to carefully manoeuver the metal ring out of the piercing. If one side of the hoop has a bead connected to it, slide the ring out from the side without the bead.

If you find it difficult to remove a nipple ring, it’s essential to seek help from a professional piercer for assistance.

Replacing The Ornament

Step 1: Clean your jewellery to keep it free from germs by washing it with warm water and salt. Create a cleaning mixture by combining one teaspoon (5.69 g) of antibacterial soap with warm water in a small glass. Submerge your ring, bar, or shield into the solution and allow it to soak for 5 minutes. Make sure to stir in the salt until it dissolves completely.

If your jewellery doesn’t have any additional accessories like rhinestones, jewels, or acrylics attached to it you can also sterilise it by boiling the metal instead of using the cleaning solution.

Step 2: Gently guide the metal bar through the piercing to secure the jewellery. Hold the end of the bar with two fingers and carefully manoeuvre it through the piercing. Take your time and proceed slowly unless the bar easily slides through. If you encounter resistance, try inserting the jewellery with gentle, deliberate movements. Avoid forcing the jewellery into the piercing, as this could cause damage.

If you’re having trouble inserting any of your jewellery, it’s best to seek assistance from a piercing professional. They have the expertise and tools to make the process easier and safer.

Step 3: If you’re using a bar for your jewellery, attach the loose metal ball to the end to secure the piercing. Hold the metal ball with your fingers and slowly turn it clockwise to screw it onto the end of the bar. Keep a firm grip on the ball until you’re sure it’s tightly secured to the rest of the jewellery. Take your time and be careful throughout the process.

Step 4: If you’re wearing a nipple shield, position the metal bar in the centre slot of the shield. Place the nipple shield over the metal bar, ensuring that the bar is positioned centrally within the shield. Confirm that the metal bar goes through the designated slot in the shield before placing it onto your nipple After that, proceed with the typical procedure of threading the metal bar through both the opening of the shield and the piercing to firmly secure the jewellery in place. It’s essential to ensure the bar passes through the designated slot in the shield to guarantee its security.

Step 5: When wearing a For the nipple ring, use a bead to secure the jewellery. Take the end of the nipple ring without the bead and carefully insert it into the piercing entrance. Avoid forcing or rushing it; guide the ring with gentle and deliberate movements. Once the ring is positioned, attach the metal bead to both ends to secure it. Remember that some nipple rings may have different clasping mechanisms, so be mindful of this when fastening your jewellery.
